 Belize City, Belize — August 9th, 2010 — On Thursday August 5th, The Radisson Fort George Hotel & Marina was awarded a certificate for participation in the University of Belize's Green Business Competition. The hotel received 1st runner up for their hard work and dedication in implementing and promoting sustainable practices throughout the hotel. The certificate was presented by Mr. Jim Scott on behalf of the University of Belize and proudly collected by Ms. Pat Lamb, "Green Champion" of the Radisson Fort George.
"Over the past years the hotel has enhanced it's social and environmental value within management and staff. The hotel is becoming an environmentally friendly hotel and leader. Through training and ongoing policy practices we continue to enhance our best management practices to lower our impact on the environment." said Pat Lamb, Director of Sales of the Radisson Fort George. This is first green business award competition that the Radisson has entered in. So its quite an achievement for us to have entered and received 1st runner up. The Radisson will continue practicing responsible tourism, by efficiently using their resources, promoting conservation and educating employees on carrying out such practices.
